Most underwhelming experience

Snorkeling on the Great Barrier Reef was very underwhelming for me. I was tired from the flight from the US the day before that. It was also very stormy out there, which didn’t help with water clarity on the reef.
Underwater also had a cast on it. You couldn’t see the color of the coral or fish without taking a picture of them, which was a big bummer for me. My camera could go underwater, but I couldn’t really see everything until I developed the photos.
We also were at a really popular spot for tourists. This meant bumping into other tourists on our visit. I was already with 39 other kids and our chaperones, so it got crowded very quickly with other people.
I was really looking forward to this experience out of everything. I would gladly do it again, but at a different spot on the reef. I would trust local guides over touristy gimmicks. I would also plan to go on a day that wasn’t stormy, so the water clarity would be better.
