Thriving on long haul flights
At no extra cost to you I get commissions for purchases made through links in this post.
My flights abroad are usually really long since I’m from the United States. The USA is so big that even domestic flights are long for me.
Either way I would suggest moving around the plane. This helps prevent your feet swelling. This might involve going for a walk around the plane or going to the bathroom. If you like to have more objectives then I would recommend a bathroom trip. Also, wear compression socks to help prevent foot swelling due to the altitude.
Also wear sunscreen while traveling. You are closer to the sun, so you are more at risk for sun damage. I would recommend wearing a sunscreen that does double duty. Try and get a sunscreen that also has face care.
I would also suggest trying to drink a lot of water. It is always good to stay hydrated. Always drink bottled water, as the plane’s water tank doesn’t get cleaned often. Try to stay away from caffeine, as drinks like coffee or tea can make you more dehydrated actually.
Also be comfortable on your flight. Wear something comfortable to travel in. I would suggest bringing slippers for the plane too. It tends to be more cold on the plane, so I would suggest bringing a sweatshirt or travel blanket with you.
I would also recommend that you bring some entertainment with you. If you rely on the plane for entertainment, you might be disappointed. I can’t fly without a playlist of music to listen to. Also bring something to read with you. Some people prefer hard copies of books and others prefer bringing kindles with them. Make sure everything is charged up. I would also recommend taking a portable charging bank with you. Also bring all your cords with you on your carryon.
